In accordance with past LAN69 traditions, we’re celebrating yet another odd anniversary. This May, come celebrate the anniversary of the first unsolicited, bulk, commercial e-mail message in history. That’s right, on May 3, 1978, the first spam message hit the waves of ARPANET and brought forth an era of ridiculous bullshit in our inboxes.
Don’t want to celebrate the event by increasing your cup size or trying a new penile-enhancment drug? Come celebrate it the better way – by fragging your friends! We’re doing this one at the firehall for both space and air conditioning. Depending on turnout will determine if I can include food or not. Since we’re doing this at a larger venue – we can hold a lot more than we could previously – so bring your friends!
So, back by popular demand is LAN69. This time we’re shooting for December 14th through to the 16th. Like all other times, register on the website and just like last time, I’m not dealing with the hassle of pre-pay. We’re still tentative on what we’ll do for food, so more announcements about that will come down the pipe.
Like all other times, I do my best to find some obscure thing to celebrate when we do our LANs. This time is no exception. We will be celebrating the last time man has walked on the moon. This will actually be the 40th anniversary of our last moon walk, as on December 14, 1972 Eugene Cernan was the last person to walk on the moon. Forty years later, we shall celebrate our being stupid and never going back by fragging one another. Let’s have at it!
That’s right! For this upcoming LAN we’ve only got one (1) more open spot! We’re going to be (once again) filling the garage up! Now we just need to determine Saturday’s food. Here’s the plan: since spaghetti and chili are dead-even, we’re going to split into two teams – one team pro-chili and one team pro-spaghetti. We’re going to agree on a game and whatever team wins decides the food for Saturday night. Sound like a plan?
Okay guys, so we’re up and running with a new website. I promise that this one won’t be changed in a month. I’m going to stick with this one for a while simply because I’m getting really bored of making websites over and over again. One thing that you guys may like is that you can sign-in with your Google Account, Live Account, Steam, etc. Yay SSO!
